Description
The Hatchery was grown from the lines drawn by the co-creators for the Lifecycle Building Center Revel in Reuse Event held on March 15th, 2018.
You see many eggs in this VINE. Eggs represent new ideas, technologies, inventions and opportunities. The eggs pouring out of the building combine with those being held by many figures, including earth-born individuals providing support and ideas to this factory of hope and progress.
Water represents the flow of support from event sponsors (Perennial Properties, the Atlanta BeltLine and Cox Conserves) and attendees. This flood of support spills through the building, creating a river of positive change, supporting a vessel named the SS LBC.
The chaotic vibe of this piece is a direct reflection of the accelerated pace of technological advancements driving the accelerated pace of change on our planet.
I am honored to have been a part of this event and to have worked with such amazing visionaries ardently working on solving our world’s most pressing issues.
Since beginning operations in 2011, LBC has:
• Diverted 3.6 million pounds of building materials from landfills
• Donated FREE building materials to 140 nonprofit organizations
• Saved the community over $2.2 million through discounts on material purchases and free material donations to nonprofits
