The blur between what’s real and what’s not is, now more than ever, pumped into our media and social streams.
Whether for the shock value of this alternate factional reality to gain ratings, or a blatant “hidden” agenda to cause confusion and distraction to benefit the greedy, we are being barraged with negative news on every device. This constant onslaught of “fake news” and anti-establishment thinking distorts our perspective on the facts and inhibits our ability to take timely actions on the world’s most pressing issues.
As we become more and more distracted, it’s becoming easier to accept a bias soundbite as the truth. And as we feed our confirmation bias with facts, pseudo-facts, and fictions that confirm our previous beliefs, we create more polarizing silos that divide us.
We pay 10x more attention to negative news than positive news. But the future is better than you think. Pay attention to the positive news and technological breakthroughs that are improving lives and creating solutions for an abundant, sustainable future.
